Brief · Analysis
During the pandemic, I had the opportunity to see the print of a project conceived in 2019, from a brilliant idea of Nico Granito. “Sui passi di Elsa” (“On Elsa’s footsteps”) was intended to connect the famous writer Elsa Morante with her territories on the island of Procida, described in her masterpiece: “L’isola di Arturo” (“Arturo’s Island”).

Rationale · Design
The identity of the project is a minimal visual synthesis of literature places described by Elsa and a touristic path among the island, where several panels have been installed. In every panel there is a quote in which Elsa Morante describes the same place in the book. I used ripped paper and old pictures to re-create a book. The color palette is taken from the typical architecture of Procida.

Output · Result
Twelve graphics, twelve pages of a book that has to be read in a cultural path throughout the island. The project is conceived to be a literary discover of the island of Procida. The size of the panels is small, to create a “treasure hunt”. The project, from the idea to the final support, immerses the reader into the book, in a cultural and touristic path among the island, to see Procida through the eyes of Elsa.
