A romantic look at the past, which tells the encounter between two cities. An editorial project with a simple but engaging character, in order to tell a series of events organized by the Municipality of Procida, on the anniversary of the death of Romolo Tranquilli.

Brief · Analysis
“Procida meets Pescina” is the event organized by the Municipality of Procida on the 90th anniversary of the death of Romolo Tranquilli, brother of the famous italian writer Ignazio Silone. I was asked to take care of the communication of the event, by designing its guide image and its varied programme of exhibitions, projections, concerts and moments of celebration.

Rationale · Design
At the design stage, I analyzed the dualism between Procida and Pescina, and between Ignazio e Romolo. Two souls which are the mirror of two cities: I translated this concept into images between the double exposure post-production of the portraits of the siblings, symbolizing the encounter between these two cities. I designed the event's calendar in a schematic and precise way, in contrast to the pictorial visual.

Output · Result
The coordinated image of the event is clear but extraordinarily engaging. Its romantic charm captures the observer’s attention: the contrast with the great simplicity of the calendar of events makes it easy accessible and visually powerful. The colour combination makes it easier to read and the typographic style makes it simple and immediate.
